Why everyone keeps coming back.

Café del Centro is a charming coffee shop nestled in the heart of Centro, Santiago de Querétaro, offering a genuine slice of traditional Mexican café culture at an incredibly accessible price point. This cozy spot is perfect for those seeking an authentic local experience where the warmth of the staff matches the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious homemade meals.

From the moment you step inside, Café del Centro welcomes you with a friendly smile and a relaxed atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The space is intimate yet lively, underscored by a backdrop of cheerful Mexican music that adds to its inviting charm.

The menu, praised for its freshness and flavor, highlights classic Mexican breakfast favorites that are as satisfying as they are affordable. One standout dish is the huevos rancheros divorciado—a delightful plate featuring eggs smothered in both red and green salsa, served alongside warm bread and freshly squeezed orange juice. Guests rave about how these dishes burst with vibrant, comforting flavors that are perfectly balanced by the quality coffee, which is rich and robust without being overpowering.

What truly sets Café del Centro apart is its seamless blend of quality and genuine hospitality. As noted by visitors like James Andresen, even non-Spanish speakers feel warmly embraced, thanks to the patient and joyful service staff who appreciate every effort to connect. This kind of attentive, personable service paired with honest pricing offers an exceptional value that many locals and tourists find refreshing in a bustling city.

Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast, a mid-morning coffee break, or simply to soak in the traditional ambiance of Querétaro’s historic center, Café del Centro makes every visit feel special. It’s not just about the food—it’s about the experience of savoring authentic Mexican flavors while making meaningful connections in a welcoming environment.

My wife and I have eaten here a dozen times over the past month, the meals have always been very delicious. We don't speak Spanish and sometimes we get a slightly different version of what we thought we were ordering, but everything we got was always very delicious! We always get a big smile from our waitress because she appreciated us attempting to speak Spanish and was very patient with us. My wife had knee surgery and couldn't walk for a few days, so the restaurant fixed us take out meals that were every bit as hot and delicious as the ones we received at the restaurant. A personal Thanks to everyone at the restaurant, we will always return in the future.

Great atmosphere, if you like traditional Mexican. The prices were ridiculously reasonable. We had huevos rancheros divorciado, which means red and green salsa both. It included fresh squeezed orange juice, yum, and coffee, and bread. Three of us ate for 250 pesos total. Coffee alone at a nearby coffee shop would have added up to that. Or 3 OJs, or one or two orders of huevos. We would definitely go back.
